About my talk

In 2012 DuluxGroup acquired the Alesco group of business. We quickly realised the intranet – Our Place – was an vital tool to integrate our new businesses into DuluxGroup. More than just a place to find information and business tools, Our Place was a vehicle to reinforce how important culture is to DuluxGroup.

Julie will share how the project evolved in a fluid environment and some of the key features most loved by staff:

• A Pin Board section with a Pinterest-Style look and feel
• Visually linking homepage content to company values and behaviours
• Mega menus that bring high-demand content to the homepage without cluttering it

About me

Julie Challinor manages the IT Professional Services team at DuluxGroup. This team is responsible for IT change management, training, documentation and communication, and is  responsible for the company intranet and enterprise social network, IBM Connections. Julie’s experience includes 10 years in HR followed by 15 years in IT change and training roles.
