Untangling the Wire: Rebuilding an intranet around how people actually work

For electricity distribution businesses, CitiPower, Powercor and United Energy the goal was simple. To make it easier for employees to find the information and tools they need to do their jobs.

But under the hood of the company intranet, The Wire, things were complicated.

Laura Chodowski is a corporate communications professional with close to 20 years’ experience across the energy, government, major events and not-for-profit sectors.

As a Communications Advisor at CitiPower, Powercor and United Energy, Laura works across internal communications and employee engagement. Most recently, she has helped lead the redevelopment of the organisation’s intranet, with a focus on understanding employee needs, improving how people find and access information, and embedding effective content and governance practices.
