Port Waratah Coal Services: Launching a frontline-focused intranet
Port Waratah Coal Services has created a new iteration of its intranet, The Channel, to meet the needs of its frontline workforce. Based on the Elcom solution, the intranet aims to make it easier for operations and support staff to access critical information and internal communications.
Notable elements include: the ability for staff to make contributions through a simple frontend editing experience; surfacing real-time operational and safety data through the intranet via an API; a new CEOVlog; an attractive and on-brand design; and an experience that, for the first time. is fully optimised for mobile devices, supporting frontline access.
Positive impacts of the intranet upgrade include facilitating internal comms, increased engagement with governance, safety information and documentation, and enabling frontline access.
