The STIHL Australian intranet called ‘The Shed’ was launched in 2015 as the organisation’s primary communication, collaboration, document management and knowledge management solution. For a business the size of STIHL in Australia, with just under 100 staff, it is an innovative solution for the group. This presentation discusses significant results seen in the following three key areas:

• culture change
• document management
• business process improvements

About me

As head of IT, Therese Chakour-West has been at STIHL Pty Ltd for more than 13 years, and prior to that held various IT consulting roles for several organisations. In 2016, Therese was amongst Australia’s top CIO 50 for her work in developing STIHL’s digital workplace taking the company on a journey of transformation.
