Fire and Rescue NSW
Generating interesting content from firefighters
About my talk
Fire & Rescue NSW (FRNS) is one of the world’s largest urban fire and rescue services, with 337 fire stations, 14,000 staff and a fire truck rolling out the door to an emergency call every 4 minutes. Traditionally fire stations concentrated on ‘response’ in their areas with limited focus on actively engaging with the rest of the workforce or with the community except for dedicated fire safety community engagement activities. In a modern content rich world this is no longer viable; but, that can’t be changed overnight.
Andrew will share insights on:
- how to empower firefighters to find a voice in a cluttered media landscape
- why content (photo, audio and video) are the most effective tools
- celebrating the successes to build culture and diversity – marketing the role to future firefighters
