Cox Enterprises: Aligning internal comms across business divisions
Telecommunications and media group, Cox Enterprises, has introduced initiatives to provide a more consistent and efficient approach to communications across its three separate operating businesses. This builds on previous award-winning work on the intranet for Cox Communications.
To overcome the challenge of three separate Microsoft 365 tenants, Cox Enterprises has introduced the same base, customised SharePoint intranet for each business. A custom “Content Syndication” feature also allows the flow of news items across all three intranets, leveraging automation and providing an effective dashboard for communicators. A new united intranet editorial team that meets weekly has produced a common TOV and style guide.
There is also a new focus on messaging built on the Axios Smart Brevity framework. Overall, this has created consistency and alignment, and saved time and effort for the comms team.
