Step Two has turned 30 this year!!

I was a young man when I founded Step Two in 1996. Originally created as an XML development shop, the business has undergone many changes since.

The pivotal shift was in 2001, when we became the intranet consultancy that you’re all familiar with. And now we’ve reached our 30 year anniversary!

Over the years we’ve run workshops and conferences, published books, created digital products, shaped methodologies and presented at conferences around the globe.

We’ve always had a passion for the people side of things, whether it’s the employees whose needs we’ve researched, or the individuals that make intranets a living, breathing platform. We’re pleased to have played an outsized role in fostering the intranet and digital workplace community around the globe, and we’ve made many friends in the process.

As organisations have evolved, so has our focus. Broadening out from intranet fundamentals, we tackle digital workplace challenges, and have been the driving force in creating the movement around digital employee experiences (DEX).

I want to personally thank all the wonderful staff I’ve had the pleasure to work with over the last 30 years, as well as the delightful clients who’ve given us a reason to exist.

Thirty years strong, we’re not stopping now! Digital workplaces are seeing enormous changes right now, and we’ll continue to bring our signature style of strategy and pragmatism to bear, to help teams thrive.

My passion for this space hasn’t dimmed, and with the brilliant team I have right now I can’t wait to further shape the digital future of organisations around the globe.
