Writing for the intranet (a one day workshop)

Good content is the foundation for a successful intranet. From HR policies to customer service information, content must be accurate, up-to-date and well written. When content is written by authors scattered across the whole organisation, this isn’t easy to achieve!

This unique workshop is specifically designed for content owners and authors, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to improve their intranet content for scanability and usefulness. Send along your key content contributors, and see a tangible improvement to the most important content on your intranet.

Melbourne: Tuesday 19 June 2012 (register online)

Publishing information to the intranet can be daunting for many authors and content owners. Selected for their area knowledge, they may have limited exposure to what makes great content, and how to deliver information in a way that works best for their audience.

While general “writing for the web” principles apply on intranets, authors deliver the best content when they have a clear sense of what the intranet is for, and what staff need. Publishing must also be made as simple as possible, as busy staff have little time to labour over intranet publishing.

This practical one-day workshop gives intranet authors and publishers the skills they need to deliver great content. Via easy to follow checklists and tips, and hands-on activities, participants will end the day equipped to write well for the intranet. There will also be an opportunity to write or re-write existing content within the workshop environment which means content is ready to go when it comes time to migrate content or launch the new intranet.

Run by Step Two Designs, the undisputed global experts on intranets, this workshop is a must-do for all organisations.

Send your authors!

Unlike other Step Two seminars, this practical workshop is designed for decentralised content authors and publishers, rather than intranet managers and owners. It is also relevant for core team members who are devoted to content writing. Forward an invitation to your authors, and see them transform their intranet content!

"Intensive" format

This is an "intensive" workshop where numbers are strictly limited to 15 participants. This ensures a high degree of interactivity, and gives plenty of time for hands on activities and one-on-one feedback.
