Fantastic article with a lot of excellent points.

The greatest take away for me was:

"Information systems are only successful if they are used"

A hugely beneficial article. I am a IM professional of 16 years and find that this article has created a framework that significantly aides in the development and management of IM. The complexity inherent in IM and specifically IT prevents (I believe) the development of a framework that allows 100% coverage for all areas, but this gives you the 80% you need. I have already established similar principles in the area I manage and am glad to see them reinforced here. Will certainly try to establish a link with the author and continue development the field of Information Management. Cheers, and thanks for a beneficial article.

As an organisation that is taking our first steps to develop an effective knowledge management system your article has provided clear and practical information to assist in planning our approach. Your comments on choosing the start carefully and avoiding the one size fits all approach were particularly helpful.
thank you

Dear James.
I dont't know much about Information management, but Your articles are very useful for me to teach my student. But there is an ambigious title of your articles entitle 10 principles of information management. You have two of this article, the one is actually concern with principles of information management, the other one, this article concern with exploring information management. So.. I think you'd better chage the title of this article.
 Sorry if I am wrong.
